One of the things that bothers me a lot about Steam Workshop is how they can remotely remove content from your game if the author of the mod in question decides to either update or delete the mod. In other games this has caused issues like broken savegames and such.

I've been absent from this forum for a very long while, and in the meantime the subscription feature has been implemented, allowing us to control downloads ingame. I find it really useful, but I have a question about it. In case the author of a mod I'm subscribed to decides to delete it, do I automatically lose the content from my game as well? I know it's capable of auto-updating if I also have the mod in my watch list.

    Mods are never remotely deleted.
They will get remotely disabled if they are marked as Unsupported (ie. they can break the game).
Although you can still force them on if you disable 'Automatic Mod Updates' from the game's settings.
