Ram Plow gets unhappy after extended use

This has been an issue for as long as I remember the Ram Plow being a thing; Plowing a few cars creates this massive spike right on the top:

While a lot less obvious (from the top, anyway), the bottom gets real upset too:

To my surprise, the black vertical lines seem to be caused by the plow as well, here's a professionally stripped truck:

(The node grabber was used to pull off the body parts, but the state of the plow is exactly as the plowing left it) (it COULD also be the suspension or something else causing the lines, but they seemed to be centered around the plow's center attachment point)

As said at the top, this has been an issue ever since the plow released, I thought it was obvious enough where it'd be fixed by now, but since searching the forums didn't bring up any complaints about it, I can see why it's not.
Even if I didn't search for it right and it has been brought up in the past, this poor thing still needs some love :3
Excuse any dumb mistakes, wrote this post at 5AM because I have no life or something like that

There are no ram plow in official content, so this is not really a bug in game (bug reports section is for in game bugs).

I think you should report this to that mod's thread to inform authors of the mod about the issue.

The ram plow is official content, and was added in 0.4.3.0.

I've never experienced any sort of spiking or stretching of the plow while using it for its intended use (and not, say, crashing it into a wall at highway speeds), but then again, I've never used it to plow through more than four parked cars at a time.

How many cars did you hit with the plow, and were they moving quickly towards it at the time?

Oh be damned, I was certain it was one of the semi mod packs that added it, every day you fail and learn something new :D

This happened when I gently reversed that thing on background over ram plow equipped T75.

Well done, you made me question my sanity for a split second :D
It happened on the 2nd batch of 5 cars - Custom versions of the Hopper, 200BX and 80's Pessima, the 600cc Pigeon and AWD TT S2 SBR4. They were all moving about as fast as they can get up to within ~800m (~250km/h from the SBR4), while the truck was moving at around 100km/h. (I have seen it happen from much weaker forces too, but that was in much older versions of the game...) The game has cars that go over 350km/h, so this should be well within "intended use".
Even if I were to hit walls at highway speeds, it's still a thing likely to happen during 'normal' play as the result of an accident or player's curiosity and should have been considered.

    Alright, after a little testing:
    screenshot_00016.png
The plow seems undamaged after really ruining five parked Legrans, even though the truck was travelling between 125 and 100 km/h.

    screenshot_00017.png
The plow becomes dented and there are some very minor spikes from the following run, during which the plow was reset and all five Legrans were directed to speed headlong into the T-series. Keep in mind that the truck's speed was lower during this run and I missed two out of the five oncoming cars.

A quick look at the JBeam structure of an undamaged plow reveals why the underside is so prone to trouble - The plow seems to have been designed with the outer striking face as the primary concern, so the reinforcement underneath isn't represented in the JBeam.

In the developer's defense though, the real-life versions of this thing were only ever designed to hit parked cars. I am unaware if anybody has any idea what happens when an oncoming vehicle is hit, or if it has ever been tested.

Wow, you actually took the time to look more deeply into this, thanks! Love your response! :D
I agree, it probably hasn't been...
Still, they should have made it in consideration of players wanting to push the limits of the design, that's what BeamNG is all about after all :D

I use this mod all the time, and quite honestly, I have never had a problem. The worst damage done to my plow was it got dented a bit, but that was driving two etk-800's at each other, one with a ram plow on the front. (I made that mod) I agree with @YellowRusty, the bottom of the plow doesn't seem as though the bottom was made very strong. I do think that this should be fixed by devs or someone, because what is happening to you shouldn't be happening. Most likely this part was avoided do to an issue or something we don't know about.
