Just got the idea of using an RC transmitter from the hobby grade ones, to use as a controller. Anyone think that would be possible?

Maybe actually. If you could find a thing that converted RC signals to USB input or something... IDK

I was thinking the ones that have the charge port on it, maybe the port can be converted to something to plug into the pc?

    Why?

    Controllers for computers aren't expensive

If they are worth anything they aren't. An Xbox for windows cost $60...

(End of useful post) I was lucky and got and Xbox for windows + a Logitech mono (worth $250) for $50 from my friend. He thought they would work with Xbox. In return I gave him 3 normal Xbox controllers that I had because my 360 died. :(

It is already possible. There is an application that can create a virtual joystick in your system and another one that you run when you want to translate your RC input to the virtual device input. Then you can map the controls in any game to joystick axis.
