Add realistic details on the tires when mud gets on them, and water makes them shiner. Also, when getting out of the water, add water coming off the body.
and to add to your suggestion, maybe scratches on your car's paint if you drive over a path with rocks on it. to simulate rocks bouncing up and hitting the car --- Post updated --- (and window chips)
