So heres a list of features I would like to suggest to be implemented in beamng for a more realistic driving experience. - Rev hang - Most modern manual cars irl have this feature to help reduce emissions by delaying the throttle response when pressing the clutch and lifting the throttle to shift. But with this in beam, I think it would make catching the revs much easier when upshifting. - Engine start safety switch - Most cars have a safety lock which requires you to press the clutch in manuals or brake in automatics to start the engine. - Shift lock - Automatics irl requires the brake to be pressed to shift between certain gears for example when shifting from 'P' whereas shifting from 'N' to 'D' would not. - Push start safety lock - Most if not all cars with a push start system irl will not allow the car to be switched off when driving whereas in beam, you could switch it on and off in any gear at any speed. - Signal cancelling - I don't know if every car is like this but the ones i've been in cancels the signal before the steering wheel is fully returned whereas in beam, the wheel must be 100% fully centered to cancel the signal. - Emergency stop signal - This is already somewhat implemented but every car in game with this system seems to have it react exactly the same with the flashing brake lights and then the hazards after a complete stop. I've noticed many cars flashes the signals rapidly instead under heavy braking. It would be nice to see some different variations of this system in different cars. - Hill start assist - Holds the brake for a short moment after you lift your foot off to get to the throttle to prevent rolling back on a hill. Most modern auto and manual cars have this feature. Also makes hill start easier in a manual. - Switching off electrics - Currently beam allows you to switch off the engine but not the electrics. For example in the vivace, the digital dials and sat nav does not switch off with the engine. I believe the sat nav's in other cars are the same. - Throttle response/linearity - All the cars in beam seem to have a linear throttle and the exact same throttle response. Most cars irl with an electronic throttle will have some sort of delay and a different linearity curve depending on the car and older cars with a mechanical throttle will definitely be non-linear. Also modern cars with different drive modes have a different throttle response. It would be nice to see this simulated in beam. - Drive Modes - While this is already implemented in game, it lacks some details that real cars have such as the throttle response mentioned above and also the steering feel. Modern cars usually the sportier ones will have a different steering feel for each drive mode for example stiffer steering in sport mode. Cars like the scintilla definitely needs this. Thats all.
