I think BeamNG drive is a super realistic although I feel like there’s one thing missing. I’ve had this Idea for a while, but I never really thought of how It could actually work. When A car crashes on fire in BeamNG the actual graphics are super realistic but the physics and logic are not. Unlike some other destruction games and even games like GTA there is fire physics that allow for things like fire spread In physics that allow for The fire to understand different materials and how they react when the fire touches them. Such things like GTA with explosions after a car has been on fire for a certain time and charred remains. Or Teardown where physics allow for fire spread and charred physics where wood burns faster and disintegrate where as metal takes longer and is more difficult to complete disintegrate. If you think in terms of BeamNG drive and cars soft materials like plastic, leather, rubber etc usually just burn and carbonize and disappear so that can easily have melting animations added when fire touches them. For materials that are left over like metal the texture of burn and rust that you normally see in a burned car can be changed with the normal textures. I’m not sure I’m not a game developer and don’t have very much code experience so i might be completely off the hook but this is just what I think would be a good thing to add to the game but I’m not sure if it’s possible or how it would work but let me know thanks.

I couldn't agree with you more lol, BeamNG's fire physics should definitely get an update. To add to your point, although in cars themselves the fire spreads slowly amongst the parts of the car until it is all on fire, all it really impacts is the engine and the tyres. The tyres deflate (while exploding, like in real life), and the engine seizes up, but that's about it, so if you extinguished the fire, you wouldn't be able to tell the car was once on fire at all. It would be nice for this to be improved, even just to have different textures for burnt parts of the bodywork.
It would also be nice to have fire spread between vehicles close together, or have burning shrapnel that can land near another car to set that alight too.

Also, I do think that the texture of fire itself should be improved. It currently looks exactly the same as it did 8 years ago, and to be honest I don't think it looks good or realistic. It would also be nice to have denser and darker smoke. I appreciate that this may be resource-intensive, so maybe only for higher graphics settings.

Sadly however, I think the devs have higher priorities than this, but I guess that makes sense since there are so many things they are working on all at once.

I would love to see fire (or really just temperature) spread. If you've ever witnessed a car fire irl, you'll know how scorching hot they get, and how far that heat reaches. It's really funny to then park next to a burning vehicle in-game and be absolutely fine, with nothing overheating.

Yeah I think that's a much needed feature, because the current fire physics are very lacking as the fire only really spreads inside the car.
