Was curious to hear what is your guys favorite things about this game and why you make content for it if you do. For me, it’s because irl I’m as gearhead as it gets. When I’m either job searching or just to beat to get out and work on the trok (hopefully car too soon) I love getting on and building random shit and cutting it up on a interstate map. That then sparked a idea, since engines are my specialty, I started working on engine swap mods. Basically keeps me motivated and my ideas for builds flowing while I sort out life because having your shit together is the most important thing! (Bluebuck with a sbc mod from the Barstow is the current one)

BeamNG is my favorite simply because of the devs focus on making the game as good as possible, something that you don’t always see in other games. In BeamNG it’s particularly hard because of all the research, detail, and fine-tuning they have to do to make whatever they’re making just right. All that work goes directly to us for an affordable price that you’ve only got to pay once. Aside from the work that they do, the devs are also great at communicating and interacting with their community. Speaking of the community, the modding scene, while it has MANY flaws, is huge and is full of so many talented people making so many awesome things for the game, whether paid or not. Overall, BeamNG is sick. Plus it was one of things that taught me so much about cars IRL, just messing around with different parts and saying “I wonder how that works” and then being able to see some of it work in BeamNG did so much for me.

From a strictly motorsports perspective, it's always amazing to me how driving the car too hard, especially off-road, causes various damages of the chassis and suspension that are not too significant at first but over time they accumulate and the car gets harder and harder to drive until it gives up completely. The Driven Till Destruction series by FailRace on YouTube shows this really well, he drives mostly normal cars on circuits they were completely not designed for and they slowly fall apart. In other games you either get just visual deformation or instant breakage instead of gradual, the closest example that actually can do gradual destruction is Wreckfest but that is nowhere near as detailed as BeamNG, here you not only have deformation but also individual suspension components breaking or collapsing, radiator and oil pan failures that affect the engine over time, driveshaft snapping, fuel tank ruptures... Giant respect for the devs for implementing all of this in a realistic way.

Very well said! There’s rarely teams that’ll ever have the love and passion that beamng devs have. Everything they’ve made is super impressive in pretty much every standard, especially for a fellar like me who’s some clown that dosent understand anything about computers/code other than how to build a pc and mod beam ng lmaoo

I got another point for you fellars too, no matter what niche of motorsports or even just car culture you’re into, beam 9/10 has mods for that niche or the devs have implemented it. That’s like a major reason for me, if you can build a race vehicle out of something, you best believe I want to build it and race it myself. Being able to build a stanced out car scraping it’s frame, sitting next to a pre runner, that’s also sitting next to a pulling truck. Oh and don’t forget a gt3 car and big tire drag build. Really is the top sandbox/sim game

Hand crafted cars. The passion in each one. The way they drive and crash. The fact in free rome everything is just there. In a bad mood? want to trash a super car, Go for it. want to tune and take apart a muscle car. GO for it. I love how it got no cheesy stroyline.

I love how it has normal cars. NOT just super cars. I love how muscle cars have a base inline 6!

There is just so much i love about beamng.

Sorry to butt-in good sir, but BeamNG.drive is better described as a 'physics sandbox' rather than a "motorsports game." Such classification is much broader in scope and more fitting for what is outlined in this thread.
And personally, I believe it falls short as a "motorsports game" due to the lacking aerodynamic triangle and tire thermals simulation. There is more that which is considered 'sub par,' such as the general lack of chassis rigidity and force feedback modelling, but those matters are much less pressing.
Not to mention, the great lack of 'game' elements such as progression or story. Both of which appear perpetually being worked towards, and hopefully due for release some time this decade.
In short, it is my preferred physics sandbox, but not my "favourite motorsports game."
