Is it safe to do? Will the old uninstaller bundled with the 0.3.3 update uninstall my Steam version too? I don't want to lose my mods, and more importantly, my inputmaps!

Well sort of. I did the same thing. However the install of BeamNG itself located in your programs file is the same game as before. Don't uninstall it. That will just make you lose everything entirely. But what you can do is make a folder on your desktop or something and put all of your mods, maps, and anything else into the folder. (I recommend backing up all of that stuff anyways. I have a huge folder on my desktop with hundreds mods in it from maps to cars to skins lol) Then you can completely delete the old game files where your mods and everything used to be and use the Steam ones instead.

They should be located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\BeamNG.drive

From there you can just load up all of your mods again from that folder you made and they should be in the Steam game.

From my knowledge, after installing the game on Steam then you basically just have one program that has two game files in two separate locations - which is pretty much pointless. So you might as well just delete the old files and use the Steam ones in the location above. Hope this helped!

I didn't use the uninstaller I just copied my mods over to the steam version's location and then deleted the entire folder for the other version which I just put in the root of my C drive for exactly this reason I didn't want to have to go searching for it...

I can't believe I didn't think of this before you could also just tell steam to install it in the same location as you already have it and it should work just fine. Keyword is should, it seemed like everything was the same but doing that could have unforeseen issues.
