Story
The Renault Be Bop are two concept vehicles from Renault that were presented at the IAA in Frankfurt in 2003. The Bop is an SUV, and the Be is the matching sports car.

The name was also used for a shortened special model of the Renault Kangoo from 2009 to 2013.
Engine
The Be Bop is powered by a 1600 cc four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 84 kW (114 hp). Power is transferred to the 21-inch wheels via a six-speed transmission and an electric clutch. The 210 mm ground clearance also allows for off-road driving.

The Be Bop, on the other hand, is powered by a 2000 cc 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 165 kW (224 hp) and a maximum torque of 300 Nm. It is mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox.
Innovation
Both versions of the Be Bop are equipped with underbody paneling[2], which is intended to improve aerodynamics and thus reduce fuel consumption. The lines are curved. A large, rounded windshield and a panoramic glass roof are important light inlets for the interior. In the interior, a large arch extends from front to rear, which also serves as the attachment point for the four individual seats. This arch contains, among other things, the gearshift lever and the controls for the heating, air conditioning, radio, etc. Two LCD displays arranged one above the other show the driving speed and engine rpm in 3D. All other information can be read on a rotating, retractable display. LED headlights are installed on the exterior, and light strips are installed at the rear. The tailgate opens in two steps. First, the window pivots upwards, then the loading floor is lowered.

In addition, the rear seats in the Be Bop can be folded away beneath the front seats to create more storage space.

The Be Bop features a sporty profile. The seats offer more lateral support.*
