Same problem. Just need to figure out how the terrain for roads work (if that makes sense). When I use the road editors and place them it only reacts like your driving on grass and just slide around. No screeching from the tires or skid marks.

From what I understood (I'm still learning how it works), the type of layer you drive on determines the material of the terrain. So if you want to have asphalt under a delalroad for example, you need to add an asphalt layer in the terrain painter and paint the area. Same for dirt, rock, mud, etc ...
You can also use "AutoPaint", still under the terrain painter tool, but it's only hanful when you need to paint in a material in degrees (from x to y degree)
Sorry if it's not very clear, but you can reply here or PM me if you need more explanation on specific stuff ;)

Welcome! You must use the paint tool and paint the desired surface under your roads. A bit tedious but it's how to do it

    Good luck :)!

Well for me it isn't working.
I've put the concrete down but it's still acting like dirt/grass..
No skidmarks or screeching from the tires and no traction.

How did you add the material ?
You should copy the materials file from an official map as a base for the map.

The name of the material makes it.
See how official maps are made.

You have to name the material for that thing in a specific way the game recognizes.
You can find all the groundmodels here: maindirectory/lua/common/groundmodel.lua

You may have to restart the game for changes to take effect.

I know it's not what you want, but for start and make test, you can use the 3D road, they work for drive like on some tar ^^
