Hey, I’m buying a new laptop and I came across two different options. I saw that the Intel had a lot more cores and threads but I don’t know if it’s worth paying more for cores and threads that BeamNG might not even be able to use.
    Thanks

If you like more traffic, more cores are better (as far as I remember).
Check elsewhere and don't fully trust me on this, but I'm pretty sure each car takes a core, so the more cores, the better.
    Could be wrong, though.

I just wonder how many cores BeamNG is can even use and what does BeamNG use threads for?

Hopefully someone with actual computer knowledge comes in here lol. I plan on getting a new computer as well, and would like to know if I'm right and how threads affect the game.

BeamNG is using all threads from CPU for computing car physics.
The better choice is 12700H, because 12xxx Alder lake CPUs has slightly better performance per watt per core at the same frequency after undervolting(which is must have in notebooks where CPU/GPU can easily start throttling).
