    (v1.0 Video)

    Description:
Sandy Mountain is a pretty large map, with various long smooth roads that will take you across the scenery. Suitable for some relaxed or not driving, or some off the road exploring.

    Features:
    • PBR Materials (new in 1.1!)
    • 4,096Km² ( Up to 16,8Km² with drivable extents )
    • Airstrip, Warehouse, Radio Tower and more to discover
    • Dynamic Lighting, Day/Night Cycle available
    • Smooth, cambered roads. Guardrails included.
    • First map featuring open-able garage doors (Warehouse)
    • Custom minimap
    • Custom license plate

    Notes:

    • The map is big and contains complex meshes. A computer with a decent amount of available RAM is required/suggested.
    • First loading could take a while, due the game creating the cache files for all the meshes. Just wait patiently and don't click anything.

This is so nice man :D so fun to drive around on.

But I have some problem with the mountains far away glitching out a bit. Is this just a limitation of the grafic engine maybe? Or is it something else.

It's an actual bug in the renderer, not related to the map (You can notice the same on Utah, on distant rocks).
It's on the ToDo list, so it will be fixed at some point :)

Yes it is not a big deal. It is still a beautyfull map. do you use World Machine. For the terrain and texture?

Looks amazing and beautiful, my PC sadly wont run it (probably, didnt even bother testing)...
Do you think that you could make some sort of smaller, crap-PC-friendly version ?
(Also, could you as a dev possibly suggest such a really easy to handle map to the team ? If you need advice, ask me, I learned what hurts my pc over the years :p)
    Thanks

    Why don't you just try?
The map itself should be pretty easy to run, since it doesn't have dense vegetation or stuff like that.
Of course, if you are literally running on a potato, don't expect miracles :)

Because i am literally running on a rotten potato, that sometimes has problems running gridmap on the lowest settings  :D
But ill try and tell you my experience
    --- Post updated ---
    Reporting back from testing...
I obviously was on the lowest graphic settings, but i had all shadows on.
Suprisingly, the map loaded up, and that rather quickly compared to other maps that size.
Driving was a rather unpleasent experience, as i was experiencing from 6 to 8 fps, but, compared to other maps of this size, it was a pretty good performance.
But on a side note, the map is really cool, and the features like the warehouse are really nice...

    Hey,

How did you setup the doors? Are they props or actually map objects?

    Objects animated in Blender.
Using triggers to 'trigger' the animation.

No, we cannot have animated 'static collisions'. But it opens fast enough for you to not notice that. (well, unless you try to crash into the door on purpose..)

Ahh... yeah... that CPU is a bit down on power... I compared it to my CPU and it is very lacking although your clock speed is on the higher side which is good.

Your graphics card on the other hand... Ouch... you would probably see a huge boost in performance with a new card... I mean... mine isn't great, but yours... yeah...

Anyways, back on topic (sorry for that bit of a derailment)

This map looks like a lot of fun! I will definitely have to give it a whirl when I get home!
