I think there should be a sarcastic Modifier for Likes and all the other things you can rate a post. You could sarcastically say it's awesome when something bad happens to someone, or sarcastically agree with an incorrect post. Or I you don't want a sarcastic Modifier, maybe a negative Modifier which changes a like to a dislike, or a useful to a useless.
There used to be things like "disagree" and "dislike" and i suppose there were things like "trash" (like the ratings from Facepunch). However any negative rating got removed. It seems that the forum managers didn't want anyone to be slightly offended and wanted everyone to be in their happy safe space so they only made it so that you could say positive things about people's posts.
Yup there was the "trash" option but it was named "dumb" instead. (So that's why the logo looked like an cardboard box.) OT: Eh honestly I'm not sure if we should get the negative ones back or not. If we do get them back then we would only need the disagree option.
The mods here prefer to be safe than sorry, therefore any chance of "drama" is removed. That's how half my posts and one of my car advertisements got deleted anyway ;p
I dont know. I get it, but i feel like if this is the mods stepping in to make sure that no kids fight in the kindergarden and everyone is happy. It makes me feel as if this forum is not being taken seriously if people aren't allowed to be vocal about disagreements.
But there are a lot of under 16 people are here and its pretty obvious in the quality of this forum. Not trying to accuse anyone. The devs would have to reduce the age limit to 13, or enforce age checks somehow.
Yup. If you want to fake your age for any reason, you can't complain for content that's 13+. I have a fake age on this website because I prefer not to reveal information to anyone, not even moderators who can see my account with show age disabled.
