So I had an Idea, What if you made say a drift missile and you crashed it and you wanted to fix like The Wheel Or suspension But when you do that it resets the car and you lose the damage So i thought that What if we were able to Save Damage Models and Repair certain parts without resetting the damage Model This Would be good for: -Drift Missiles -Banger Racing -Doing Irl stuff E. Top Gear Invincible Toyota Hilux -Doing actual mechanical work Thanks -George
I think he means that like lightly crashing a car and you hit your right side panel and it busts both your suspension and your right side panel, but you only want to fix the suspension so it can still drive
It could work, with an option in the parts selector for each part to repair it. Only problem with that is fixing one part could make it not fit, or not be compatible with the rest of the damaged body, and could make the jbeam unstable and cause instabilities.
the problem then is what happens if your whole frame is buckled and you only repair the suspension? do the suspension arms move back to their original location, meaning they don't line up with the mount nodes on the chassis? do you try to track the position of the mount nodes and straighten out the suspension geometry, but move all the suspension to line up with the bent chassis? and if so, how do you reliably track that? it's a good idea in theory, and a very obvious game mechanic to include, suggesting there's a reason why they haven't implemented it in the 8 years they've been developing the game.
