! THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS MOD AND WILL TAKE LONG TO CREATE ! I am currently spending my time working on a Scania R520 V8. I only have one screenshot of the mod and is based on the MAN TGS mod by @MRcrash ! (I cant find the MAN thread for the name) Please Be patient for this mod as its extremely hard finding how to use JBeam. ! NOTE THAT THIS IS MY FIRST EVER MOD EXCEPT FROM AUTOMATION ! This is the chassis so far, I will keep on updating this thread with pictures and I will put the Zip file on this thread so keep on checking this thread to see how far i have gotten! (The door is off the MAN i have just edited it slightly but will be changing it in the future) These are the body parts i have made/edited, I used the rear lights and fascia off the MAN again and edited it for the custom lights and indicators (i also removed the centre part of it and the rear lights i will edit and customize in the future) . Im definately getting closer to starting on the more 'mechanical' things on this project but i have found a roofbar on the MAN i can also use for accessories! (I dont know how my backround changed) Should I keep The Front Grille Bar or change it (reply below) I also need to change the chrome parts across the grille! Chassis: 80% Cabin: 35% Interior: 0% Lights: 35% Accessories: 30% Engine: 95% Drivetrain: 85% Textures: 5% JBeam: 30% Sounds: 0% FRAME: @MRcrash . CABIN/ACCESSORIES: Voodoocharlie.
Instead of editing the MAN 3D model, would it not make more sense to use the Scania R/Streamline models from ETS2? I can see from the images that you’re not very experienced in 3D modelling
I would recommend staying away from modifying other people’s content and instead try to make your own. I am aware 3D modelling is rather difficult, but once you get the hang of it, it will eventually become easier. Also, this doesn’t look like it was modelled with much reference, It will make a day and night difference to use blueprints when modelling! and remembering to use plenty of reference is extremely important, otherwise the model could end up looking completely different to the real thing. Hope this helps!
Seconded this, even though the drawback is not repo friendly (even without the ets model because SCANIA branding)
idk watch some blender tutorials rather than botching together meshes, yes i understand 3d is hard but it's for the better and you get to learn to make your own stuff (Kevin Gallant Modeling tutorial playlist) https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=blender+modeling+tutorial (and of course the other modeling tutorials)
As mentioned by the other people, I think a 3d Model of a Scania R520 would be better than basing it from the MAN Model For early development, just mesh slap the Scania first on the MAN Mod and then edit the Jbeam and rename the files to avoid any confliction with the MAN Truck mod
