I don't know if i even need this thread, im an author of newly released Scintilla GT 3 steering wheel mod. Maybe a bit more discussion towards simracing in Beamng in total - is always appreciated, since the game becomes more and more advanced. I have motivation to add more parts from GT3 race cars. 2 things i want next is huge rear splitter + Rear wing. The wing model i have from my never-released DTM Etk-K mod. Also the wheels itself are the same that used in DTM races before it became generic GT3 with luxury cars. So yeah, jbeaming all of this is the biggest problem. If you have any problems with Scintilla mod, tell here also and more ideas appreciated --- Post updated --- Bonus picture for no reason Advice for scintilla mod: Use global values from AgentY and set aerodynamic changes and set Lift coefficient to x2 to achieve the most realistic handling
I do look forward for the GT3 spec parts. If I could suggest something for consideration, perhaps look into the downforce of the front lip and underbody of the Scintilla as well, and not just the splitter and wing. With what limited research I could find, IRL GT3 counterparts can make about 1.6 lateral Gs and can generate somewhere in the ballpark of 800 kg of downforce at 240 km/h, depending on the car (with a split of 30/30/40 from front/floor/wing). The Scintilla vanilla race configuration achieves roughly 1.4 lateral Gs on a flat surface and under 500 kg at 240 km/h.
suggestion: gt3 diffuser and splitter + canards for the scintilla, also make front and rear aero tunable please --- Post updated --- also some restrictor plates to bring it down to like 520-590 hp (roughly gt3 spec for cars of similar weight)
What i currently done is GT3 wing with GTC jbeam but GTRX wing downforce, which is 1.5x bigger --- Post updated --- Current engine with race internals but without intake does around 800hp which is overboard, i don't really understand what was the reference for doing that much power, after wing im gonna bring it down to 550-600hp
I just achieved the same handling (80-90% of it) and power from what i experienced in Asetto Corsa Comp. and from onboard camera in real races. But the thing is, i have to make x2 in overall aerodynamics of the car through global values mod. It really handles like in Asetto Corsa now, just a bit more jumpy-bumpy. So overall i guess the Beamng needs to double the aero in it's current form. Also engine is preset is tuned down to almost 450hp because for some reason it outperforms real life gt3 with lower hp, for reason i don't know.
Canards kinda done + extended basic splitter and center grille, removed upper part of performance lip. If i had enough skills i'd remade entire bumper so it had only center vent, but my 3d is telling "bruh" Update: Cut rear bumper and increased rear splitter in about 1.5x times
beautiful canards + splitter, but the diffuser needs a complete overhaul, i suggest just removing it entirely and making a new one like on the real gt3 cars
except for some of the older 911s, all modern gt3 cars have the diffuser seperate from the bumper and very different to the road car
If you want to do this properly it will need to be a chassis up rework similar to the Group 5 Bolide. A stiffer yet lighter chassis, then a much beefier roll cage that ties into both front and rear suspension towers. Then the entire suspension geometry will be reworked to one that works better for lower ride heights and higher downforce with lightweight components. Then much bigger brakes and tires are fitted as well as a increased track width. 315s all round in most cases. Then of course you get to the part where you do the bodywork around the new parts. Focusing on aero with a full flat bottom, fender venting etc. Which will of course require a lot of modeling, but I'm sure you can find people willing to help with each step to make this a true GT3 car. Id love to see the Scintilla in True GT3 spec like the 296 here.
I want to cover sidevents on the front bumper and leave just center, like in most of gt3 cars, about chassis, im not that skilled in rebuilding the car, that would require dev-like skills, most of what i do is just visuals, because when i tried doing DTM car which i additionaly jbeam with aero parts, at some point wasn't driving straight on high speeds, so i doubt i'd start that again
You should change the name of this thread to "Scintilla GT3 Steering Wheel + Parts", that way it will be linked with your mod's page automatically in the Discussion tab.
an addition i had was different levels of kit for gt3, in my mind you have budget / amateur, so steel roll cage, heavier and worse diffuser, splitter etc, but then pro level so carbon fibre everything, titanium roll cage etc, the difference being a few kilos here and there, better grip, better downforce etc / but love the mod as it is mate!
