I'd like to know if it would be possible to customize the A:F Ratio when, say, you use a custom racing ECU. I'm not going to start throwing ideas like having a 100% dynamic and custom engine map based on the spark timing, but as far as I understand the A:F Ratio is almost entirely linear power gain/loss depending on how close you are to the ideal 12.5:1 ratio for pump fuel. (Ethanol, natural gas and Diesel would have their own numbers). Why should this be added? Well, for starters, this is also a method to handle the fuel consumption in a car, and considering that the career mode will have you pay out of pocket for each mile you drive in fuel, I think it's a decent idea to give you an easy to tune way to control it's mileage. Another reason to add this is that it would directly impact the engine's thermals, since adding more fuel keeps the car cooler. And if the career mode will see the introduction of emmission checks it's another thing the player can get in trouble for if you want to pursue max power. This would also allow for the realistic feature of giving race cars the options to control their own A:F R on the fly.
iirc there was a mod that did allow you to tune the engine mapping but I have no idea how it was named
