It is fun going around various maps and checking elevations, gives a nice sense of a maps true scale in the Z axis. Some of the mountains
I've gone up in WIP maps are actually not nearly as tall as they look. I assume this app isn't affected by the meter per pixel of a given map?

 

I use this with the simple compass, the only thing we need right now is an old civilian passenger plane.

 

No I don't believe so, this app just takes the raw z position of the vehicle multiplied by 3.28 to get that position in feet. And if the map maker changed the meter per pixel then the map's mountains are supposed to be steeper/more gradual.

But yes I also like to see the elevation of various points of maps when driving.
