This idea came to me while reading about murdurous AI. Maybe, if you checked a little box, it could "rigify" all but 500 or so beams, and limit their flex. Giving kind of a burnout/NSF most wanted damage. This could be used on slow computers, or to allow cars to "throw" each other instead of absorbing the impact, or to simulate 100 cops running into you at 100+mph. This might be incoherent, it's late and I'm exhausted, just wanted to get this in before I go to sleep.

I think I know what you're saying. Basically make a cruder version of the node beam thingy with less deforming bits to take the # of calculations down, right?

    edit: hi

Or maybe A.I. that tries to pit you of the road.

    "That would be sick"

That has nothing to do with simple N/B.

If you rigidify those beams, it'll still simulate the same amount of beams, the framerate would still be the same imo.
The solution is to create a simple N/B for those vehicles which would be spawned more than once and active (with AI for example) in the game.

Yeah. But it would be fun for NFS physics

Why would anyone want NFS physics? You're on the wrong forum, bud.

OP, personally I think it might be fun for some gamemodes, but only some.

This is suppose to be a vehicle SIMULATOR. If you want to play NFS physics, go play NFS.

Well you know, if you had GTA cars taking 2 hits at most, it would be the most annoying thing ever.
That's why I said for some gamemodes, you should "balance" it out to get some fun into it. Ones like stunts and some insane type gameplay.

I guess you're not a fan of simulations then...

    DUDE.
I love realism. I am saying OTHER GAMEMODES.

It would be really boring if you had to get a new car every jump you try to do in the stunt-whatever(probably a bad example because the car would be more rigid anyway). But the same physics would be perfect for racing/normal/realism/career.

Please actually read what I wrote.

Oh, I can read just fine. It just boggles my mind that people want a mode for dumbed down physics and crash damage, when that's the main thing that is going to make this game great.

I mean, instead of having an idiot cop AI smash into your car, then nothing happen except for your car to stretch out, it flings you 100 feet in the direction he was going. That way car golf is possible. You could kinda call it "arcade mode"

The "arcade mode" would be pretty useful for one thing, and that is limited damage. It would be good for anyone who would like to drive and crash, but without damaging the engine or any other vital parts of the car, so it could go on after the crashes. It could be like a "body damage only" mode, for those who only want to bend the chassis :) Actually, just my opinion :)

If you don't want realistic damage, maybe this is the wrong simulator for you ;)

i think that arcade mode would be more for people with less powerfull computers, unless you guys will actually find a way to make it run on less powerfull computers, in which case, AWESOME :D

    It wouldn't make a difference.

And I fully support these awesome physics, I was just explaining the OP.

No, I want beamng, but I was thinking, "what if I could play golf with my covet, instead of it just smashing?"
