Simple Tank

    Its a simple tank, not much else to say. Use it to Crush things, use it to shoot things. That's about all it does.
    This is just a little proof-of-concept I made for a tracked vehicle. The idea is not originally mine, it is from a video of a tracked vehicle made by @Mythbuster demonstrating the use of slidenodes and jbeam sprockets.

    Controls:

    Turn the turret with F and H, aim the gun up and down with T and G.

    Fire the gun with Spacebar. You get 20 shots.

    Lock the turret in position with /, this is to prevent it moving slightly while driving around with the gun stowed.

    Drive the tank with the arrow keys. It cannot turn on the spot, not yet anyway.

    Issues

    Occasionally, the tanks wheels can get stuck to the tracks. Usually happens when driving over jagged objects. Can usually be fixed by reversing the tank and continuing. It can also get stuck in other cars when crushing them.

    The gun is somewhat inconsistent, and has no visual impact effects. Long range aiming can be difficult, but the gun is accurate.

    These issues are not likely to be fixed as if I ever want to make a proper, high-fidelity tank I would start from scratch. It may be used as a base for future weapons system testing.

    Feel free to mod and play with this as you see fit, but please ask before releasing a mod based on it.

    Shells sometimes do not detonate hitting light vehicles unless they hit something like the engine or a dense part of the body. When this happens they do reduced damage. and detonate when they hit the ground on exit.

    Small Update

    Slowed down projectile speed around 30% to improve clipping issues

    Have you rebound your driving controls at all? As in, the default BeamNG ones

    EDIT: Can you tell me what the issue was in case anyone else has it?

    It was where the tank kept spinning when you pressed on the throttle.

    ...cool, Tank's mod must be revisited and updated for current BNG release :) I can gladly check little things I can do to improve your mod...

    Just my opinion, I think it would be essential to continue and keep on the first existing tank developments that were not bad at all!

    I will at some point use it as a basis for a nice, high quality tank/tracked vehicle with a good model and improved Jbeam, but I will not further develop this mod specifically. That's why I'm releasing it now.

    It was intended to be an M60 Patton, but it has too many inaccuracies (mishapen turret, non-offset roadwheels, rear hull is wrong etc) so I renamed it to "Simple Tank".
