I can understand that some PC goers practically wet themselves over overly-complicated UI, almost solely created to deter the console scum, but let's approach this practically. I am not too PC-savvy, even though I have an extremely powerful machine (Runs Battlefield 4 and Crysis 3 at 60+ FPS on max settings). I had to look for several minutes to find out how to spawn another vehicle, and it took me even longer to find out how to give it AI. Why not at least have the option to have a much simpler vehicle spawning layout? The central theme of this game revolves around moving something at high speed into something else, so I wonder why the "spawn other things" tab is so hidden. The optimal idea is to have an controllable overview of the map, with a list on the side of all the available vehicles to spawn, possibly even with a picture sample. You would be able to zoom in and out wherever you'd like, and click a point in space where you would like to spawn a vehicle. You would then choose the skin for the vehicle (also possibly with a sample picture), and it would spawn. After spawning, you could give it AI or basic functions (Drive forward, etc). The option for spawning it at speed or frozen in the air could also be implemented. The same buttons would be used to switch between cars, although there is a bug I'd also like fixed. Sometimes switching between cars disables mouse movement, and you would have to press F11 twice to open and close the devkit, enabled mouse control again. The possible makeover for the spawner could include the fix for that. If there is some other, bigger, conflicting reason as to why this cannot be, feel free to let me know. If a reason does exist, I'm sure it lies somewhere in the hundreds of buttons they show you when you press F11, none of which I know the function of. Constructive criticism is appreciated.
first off "The central theme of this game revolves around moving something at high speed into something else" is an extremely incorrect statement, BeamNG Drive is not just about, crashings stuff into other stuff, its mean to realistically simulate a vehicles physics, and although to most people, that basicly means "crash stuff as if in real life" thats not really the main purpose second off, there's a wiki for a reason, everything you just said you had a problem with, the wiki explains how to do quite easily: http://wiki.beamng.com/Enabling_AI_Controlled_Vehicles http://wiki.beamng.com/Spawning_Vehicles there's even a tutorial on the wiki on how to make vehicles AWD, or faster, or whatever, if you would use this thing called "Search" you'd probably find quite a few answer's to your question, and you also need to realize, THIS GAME IS IN EARLY, EARLY, EARLY, ALPHA, so there are bound to be bugs, and im sure a bunch of the stuff you want (such as a simple menu to spawn another vehicle in a certain spot) are planned main thing though, THERES A SEARCH BAR FOR A REASON
We are planning to add a dialog to spawn more cars without having to use the editor, but as it is it's really not that difficult to figure out
