Hello, I have the newest version and I was wondering if it was possible to disable skidmarks. I have tried to do so in the world editor visual tab but may be turning off the wrong object. I get unplayable lag (~40 fps drop) when handbraking through a turn.

Yes, the devs need to address the way skidmarks work. Doing any amount of drifting causes crazy lag.

I'm pretty sure in the world editor, go to the eye in the top bar (called visible layers or something) and find skidmarks click on it to hide skidmarks. You can also hide particles here which is useful when rallying or for montages.

There isn't one that says "skidmarks"
I have tried turning off these so far in both the visible and select tabs:
    decalroad
    debris
    basicclouds
    particleemitter
    physicsdebris
    and nothing has helped.

    Thanks a lot!
Edit: Found a different way to fix it.

    1: Press F11
2: Find the "Decals Editor" button in the top left
    3: Press tireTrackDecal
    4: Put "Size" to 0

If you save this fix is permanent, if not you have to do this fix each time you load the map.

That's one way to do it, I would just lower the lifeSpan and Fade time so that you still see skidmarks, but they don't last very long

The problem is it starts lagging as soon as the skidmarks start getting drawn, not after they accumulate
