Skidmarks! Marks of rubber! Skids! Whatever you like to call them, i think it would be a very cool addition to the game, maybe vary it a little depending on the surface the wheels are on? (Grass, Dirt, Asphalt, Concrete, Ect) None the less, i think it would be a good addition to the game to add to the realism.
Another thing related to this that would be cool is Snaking with hard acceleration which would throw up a lot of dust. But only if your car had too much power. not sure if that's already planned or not though
To be fair, being that it is a title based around vehicle physics and the likes of that, Skidmarks should be already programmed into the base of the game. If it isn't, I don't see why it shouldn't be patched in. It would feel empty sliding around corners leaving no smoke or skids. Kind of felt ick in Rigs of Rods without any skid marks.
Yeah, I agree. Actually, quite a few of the suggestions about cosmetics and effects of driving (mud, skids, scratches, etc), are already going to be put in the game, or if not immediately, like you said, patched or added in with an update.
I understand that they will (most likely) add skidmarks, but i think a whole lot more could be implemented into this subject, like degrading your tires possibly, or even making the concept include downforce, like in F1 cars, or make the whole subject be as complex as downforce itself.
