I've had an itch to make skins in game for a while now but I haven't touched any programs used for it. I'd need to practice obviously, but which program do you guys find works the best for making vehicle skins?

Photoshop is great if you can afford it, I hate usimg Gimp.

Personally I use Corel Photostudio 2018, save as a png. and import into Gimp to convert it to a dds. as I don’t beleive Corel has dds. plugin.

Notepad++ is fine for the coding

    no
    just use Paint.NET
MUCH better for skin making, as you can just export it instantly as a DDS, and it has lots of nice tools+customizations.

Use Gimp. Always use Gimp. It has the most functionality and can easily export all dds files (which paint.net cannot) with a plugin.

you can't export dds files for normal maps using paint.net. Gimp is just better in every way. It's basically baby photoshop.

Each to their own, there are many ways to do it. I just use the software I’m most comfortable with.
