Skins Problem for 4.0.5 [SOLVED]

Hello, I'm having some problems with installing skins for vehicles in BeamNG version 4.0.5. I saw a tutorial and I did what it said, I put it in directory: \Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods. I downloaded a NYPD skin for the Grand Marshal and Put it in That Folder. When I went to Load up the game and went the Car Customization, I couldnt find my skin anywhere. Can ANYONE help. That would be VERY helpful...

 

And I Like Having The Outdated Versions of BeamNG because Its more Compatible With Older Versions of Mods. And I made 100% Sure that the skin was compatible with my current version.

 

When I mean by "I put it in the Directory," I mean the Folder the Files came in....

 

Skins don't work in 4.0.5, they were introduced in 4.3

If you're on Steam, it should have autoupdated
If you're not on Steam, then either redownload the installer and install the more recent version OR contact support and they'll get you a Steam key, which will get you updates the fastest.

No, that was depreciated years ago.

Redownload the latest version from the source you got it from... I think it's in the email you got when you bought the game. It's a bit of a hassle, so if you can't find it or some other problem arises, just contact support.

You should really use Steam, it updates all of your games at once. Then you won't have to redownload it manually everytime an update comes out.

 

If i switch to steam, do I have to re-pay or can I contact Beamng?

 

If you contact support, they'll give you a Steam key. No need to repurchase.

Well, you could've activated the Steam key for it instead of downloading it from the site.

Honestly, i didnt notice it was for steam, I must have been tired when I got the game and Didn't Notice "Available on Steam"
