I am currently working on a model for the skoda-favorit, all progress for this mod will be posted here. Right now I only have the fender bumper and hood but things are going along pretty well.
Fix your smoothing groups (looks like bad edge split?), also the front bumper already looks wrong. Try to use reference pictures along with your blueprints to get everything right.
I'll fix the bumper, was looking at wrong car when I modeled it. as for the smoothing its always going to look like that in solid view mode, when rendered out it looks fine so I think I will just render the preview images from now on.
Well in that case i'd suggest trying to get something in-game and see how it looks there so you won't have to correct everything later on.
The shape looks reasonably good from what I can tell without a wireframe. I would recommend using reference pictures more than the blueprints as almost all blueprints are at least a bit wrong at best. I would also say its a good idea to "mark sharp" edges as you work, this isnt necessary but it saves you needing to go back later and do them all at once. Looks pretty decent so far though.
Got a bit more done today, I re did the bumper, modeled the doors and the front end of the body. I know I'm missing the antenna, I will add that in soon. I also join all the parts together so I could show you the wireframe.
right now I'm at 4,930 triangles / polygons, Poly count is not that important at this stage and it's better if this version is well detailed as I can render out a normal map and then simplify the mesh as needed.
