So I have noticed since the 0.27 update dropped the download speeds have tanked on the Repo. On average I am getting 100 to 200 KB down. I have a wired connection straight to my router and have gigabit internet. This applies to both ingame downloading and just downloading through the browser. Is anyone else experiencing this?
It isn't just you. Ever since the 0.27 update was released, the download speeds on both the forums and repository have become significantly slower compared to previous months. As far as I'm aware of, a lot of people have downloaded files from the BeamNG servers over the course of one particular month, hence why the transfer speeds have slowed down. There isn't much to do other than just wait for a file to finish downloading. On the server side, the staff members and developers may need to perform some upgrades in order to handle the high traffic volume. There are no signs of the amount of downloaded files decreasing anytime soon.
Yes, our servers are maxed out with traffic right now. We are working on solutions as we speak here. Sorry for the problems
This thread is more than 1 Months old. - the warning I'm getting when replying to this... Downloads are still painfully slow
This thread is over a year old now. But yeah, on steam i get 14mbps. On the repository im getting 200kbps-1mbps. I guess its still a problem.
yoiu can see that the game has grown a LOT over 4 years meaning theres MUCH more traffic and i dont think the antiquated forum software helps also theres much more stuff stored now, more posts, more images, and many more mods, back in 2021 i used to see like 3-5 mods get uploaded/updated each day, now you can see 10-15 mods uploaded each day, which means much more potential to download, and much more server pain also not pretty sure on the facts, but when the ccf released, it made the entire forums unusable due to a mass amount of downloads due to the hype, which also might have broken something internally, thats why the repo was down a while
And why haven't they updated the XenForo software that the forums use? Why haven't they moved to more powerful servers?
