The problem about this is... I get why everyone hates the "Russians" (and I do myself) but, here are some of the problems I have with this war.
    (Small rant, don't get triggered).

1: What in the world happened to make "Russians" be segregated?
2: Why is this still going on?
3: Just because they are supposedly from "Russia" doesn't mean we can call them and their mods "Russian Mods". I'm sure there are some people that atleast slightly support their mods.

4: Unless it's a law in Russia for some reason, why can't the "Russians" get the latest versions and this SHOULD all be over.

Thank you for listening. Remember that these are my opinions. Anyone is allowed to reply, I just want some type of answers.

(Note: Anyone in this thread (https://www.beamng.com/threads/world-of-mods-vehicles-can-we-download.33265/page-2#post-613084) may have already seen this, but I wanted to bring this up. Just something I don't get right now.)

Yeah. I think we should bash Russian Sites. Those are where crappy mods come from. And stolen ones.

I'm going to quote my exact reply in the other thread.
ru stands for russia, all mods on that website are either stolen or crappy mesh swaps, and they pirate the game, so they can't download mods from this site.
There are VERY few exceptions to this(if any at all)

I get that, but my problem is why it happened in the first place? Why did they start pirating in the first place? I'm sure BeamNG would have let all countries to play.

They didn't want to pay for it, I guess. That's why anybody would pirate.

Best russian mod I could find.
Broke engine and driveshaft, spiked everything. 40 MPH.

Mesh swap. Just like every other one. This is one of the very few that seems slighly modified.

Radiator seems like an immovable prop.

These russian mods are thrown together and horrible, and the ones that aren't are stolen. These websites deserve their reputation.
The radiator is movable, but this still should not look like this.

The better quality ones are sometimes remade and improved. Like the Bronco, which is currently being improved and remade by @JBatic

Once upon a time, back when BeamNG was first released, you had to buy the game with a credit card, none of this Steam stuff. The email you input would be linked with your forum account. If the forum saw you owned the game, it would let you have access to a section called BeamNG.Drive that also had a subforum called Mods and Skins. This was where the mods would be posted (like the VW Golf, was such a great mod back then and still is IMO) and teased (like the Datsun that the OP said he wouldn't release because it was too closely based off the Gavril D-Series). And because it was only accessible by buying the game, lots of those Russian mod sites just ripped mods off of the closed forum to share with people who wouldn't/couldn't buy the game. This happened for awhile and is what started the "download this mod only off of beamng.com, don't reupload" that you see occasionally these days. Eventually, the powers that be eventually opened up the forum to everyone, not just the people who bought the game and that's where we are now.

I feel like a historian or something lol. "Back in my day" and all that crap. I remember the day the forum was opened, people (including myself) were not happy...

    Better is a relative term.
    Example:
    upload_2017-5-27_22-10-4.png
Notice how headlight and windshield are undamaged.
EDIT: It still turned the wheels. Further proof.
EDIT2: I don't care if they take the models, it's the fact that they put as little effort as possible into it. If they had tried even slightly, I would respect that. But it's clear that they didn't.

Thanks for the Clearup with the Backstory. I'm guessing ever since, the "Russians" just got use to it and never stopped. (which would be weird, since someone has to be a "spy" to download these mods)

Not all russain mods are bad
There are tons of quality mods too!
And sometimes they make model from scratch! Proper jbeam (But not that great)

Some russain modders are even even better than the modders in here!

That's mean I dont hate their work...
But yea....There are a lot of websites steal their mods.

People don't like searching. They want everything served to them on a silver platter. That's what those Russian sites do but because the stream of good content is so little, they have to resort to shitting out crappy 20 minute jobs of copy and pasting models stolen from other games like Forza and then pasting those on a Grand Marshall jbeam, then uploading it as a new fast shiny car. But apparently, there's a few good mods on those sites but I've never actually seen one.

But at least it's contained in those sites right? If I don't want to see it, I won't go to those sites. But now 12 year olds are bringing these mods onto this site and then attempting to """improve""" it (aka editing one node or something) so they get to feel good for """making""" a mod. I called it back then, low quality mods were going to flood in and I was right lol. This game is just a magnet to kids for some reason, like Minecraft or fidget spinners. And kids want instant gratification. I guess that's why they're so attracted to "improving" mods lol. I wish the moderators would quarantine them into their own subforum or something, would make the Mods section a lot more bearable.

The forums never should have been opened IMO.
I remember when I joined it didn't register that my Steam account had the game. I messaged the devs about it and they fixed it literally within minutes. It was simple and painless to verify that you had the game.
I'm sure the devs had their reasons for opening up the forums, but I think it contributed to the onslaught of middle schoolers here considerably.
