It has been attempted at least 3 separate times by various people and never succeeded. Might be impossible to make this work well in game.

Progress is slow and difficult but I am still making (slow) progress into getting these things functional. I recently made a bit of a breakthrough that got them functional on MANY more vehicles and much more stable than they used to be... still have a long way to go though. Here are a few preview pictures of how they are running now... as I said, still a long way to go. BUT... I am making progress.
