ive recently created a mod and noticed that i need an info.json but when i try to copy and modify one it just brakes my mod. do i need to make one from scratch?
...there is surely an error in your info.json file. U can take an official info.json as an example and modify it taking care not to change anything in the syntax ... json are very susceptible!
On windows system, go in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\content\vehicles. Copy the content of the folder in an other place, in a folder where you have your current work. Unzip the vehicles files you want. That'all!
Likely a script error. Check your parsing and that you have end brackets on all things that are strings. ONE CHARACTER OUT OF PLACE in files used to LOAD the mod breaks it and stops it from loading. Do you know what it's like searching through THIRTY SIX MILLION CHARACTERS of my main mission file when we had the 0.10.x game version because ROANE COUNTY TN USA would *NOT* load ??? Lots of swearing, I think that was one of the 2~3 times in 3 years I actually smacked the tower. Oh was I mad. I found it. Last character too, ugh. Back up frequently, especially when adding things in, removing old dupes or unused assets, or doing other changes like converting ALL textures to .dds format (you don't have to worry about this now, this was a year+ ago) from the old JPG PNG or other formats. I recommend backing up AT LEAST WEEKLY. Seriously. Keep a cloud drive, flash drive, and possibly a removable hard drive (that doesn't STAY connected to the PC). It will keep your precious work alive. It has come in handy half a dozen times in two years I've been editing. --Cheers - do upload the file that's broken so we can tell you what's broken.
