some vertexswont extrude

    so when I tryto extrude some parts it wont work and it willshow a really thin line

    You have to select a whole edge, not just a single vertice.

    I am watching atutoirial on how to model cars but not really the basics

    You might need to check few basic ones too, what you have in screenshot happens for example if you hit e, then hit esc to cancel, I think it sometimes does then copies of vertices, which can cause bit of issue.

    Main problem is that you have vertices that are not connected.

    You might need to weld few vertices there.

    There was a chair tutorial, which was pretty good I think, it helps a bit to get into it before tackling more challenging shapes like a car.

    Anyway, if you press esc, often you need to press ctrl-z after that to get where you were, sometimes not, but often you need to, but to fix what you have, you need to weld some vertices together.

    You don't need to start off modeling a car, start off basic.
    Unlike me (who started trying to model a car and had a hard time) Try modeling a plate or a cup.
    Something simple will help you get the hang of what you need to do.
