SPINNER HELP!

I am literally tearing my hair out over this! How do you keep that dammed spinner going after you switch to another car?!
By the time I get the other car up the ramp it's lost half the speed. And I cant find the answer anywhere on this site or the game or the internet. Please help! It's just useless if you cant even keep it moving long enough to put a car in it!

 

I haven't used it in a while, but isn't the accelerator used to spin up the spinner? If so, hold the accelerator, and while still holding the accelerator, switch to the car you want to crush. Inputs active at the instant you switch vehicles are held until you switch back, so this works for any vehicle and any input.
