Spring loaded beams and inflatable beam structures would be useful additions to the game as they could be used to simulate those bumper spring loaded things that absorb lower speed crashes and when combined with an inflatable beam structure they could be used to create airbags that deploy (with a simple structure as they would just be for effect)
was going to say we have inflatables already, didn't think you meant post crash. sprung beams, already doable
yes I know but what I suggest is a beam that can pop or spring out at a command or on impact this is sort of possible in game but a dedicated beam type would work for cars airbags and such
I suggest using slide nodes along with a beam structure that does what you want it to do, such as expand.
hydros adjust length on command but not during an impact. Though you could have a beam with a high precompression and a second limiting beam that is easily broken, second beam breaks and then the precompressed beam springs to size
yep, that would work but a official "spring" beam would be more efficient and easy to implement although I dont know how they dev the game so implementing such thing might be harder than I think eh, the inflatable thing is still a solid Idea
