Recently, I've really wanted to find or figure out how to create a mod that stabilizes to the outside environment instead of to the car. Normally, the camera is fixed to the orientation of the vehicle. This gives the impression that the driver is bolted to the seat which means that players don't experience the subtle changes in vehicle pitch and roll that occur when driving normally. If a camera was stabilized to the environment then those subtle pitches and rolls would be more apparent. Thoughts?
maybe a combination of both, but it should not be very heavy since small bumps might make the camera jitter, but I like the idea
This would be very helpful. The cockpit view when off-roading can induce some motion sickness after a while since it's so rigid. https://www.paradigmshiftracing.com...n-in-sim-racing-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly
Stenyak. WHELP. This is my favorite new addition. I cannot tell you how much of a difference it makes for me, especially when driving on dirt roads. I saw this update last night and could not wait for it to start. It's hilarious I posted when I did. Excellent work on it, I really love it. How would I be able to lock the camera such that the pitch axis is fixed as well? No the yaw axis, just the pitch. Does this type of modification require a lot of in-depth work?
Thanks for the feedback and your words. It was indeed "funny" to read your comments when I was just finishing with the implementation. It's easy to implement a simple version. The issue is that it will break in many cases outside what you or some other user may consider 'normal' use. So we have to work on more elaborate solutions than those found in pure racing sims. E.g. a solution that will survive driving upside-down through loops, etc. I will keep it in mind, but no promises here.
