Has anyone ever tried to build a starship from star trek???!!! Like Voyager or the enterprise d. That would be super cool! Even if it was solid and didnt move or it just drives on wheels or something it would be cookl to see how big it is in relation to cars!
I am sorry but seriously where did you get that idea from because to me it seems like one crazy idea that will be unable to work due to the games physics engine....
Im sorry but why would it not work due to the physics engine? As long as the jbeam is good i see absolutely no reason why beamng couldnt handle a ship. Ive even seen someone work on a space ship and it seemed to work other then its massive weight that crushed everything in its path. Maybe a voyager on wheels is a crazy idea but im sure with the right wheels jbeam it would work nonetheless of how crazy the idea seems.
I know nothing about vehicle creation but would it be possible to just create it based on a 3d model? If that would work then to make it solid wouldnt be very hard right?
I mean, if you just copy and paste the model it wouldn't be too hard. If you want to add the beam nodes it gets harder. Even more if you want it to fly.
Didn't @fufsgfen make a super big flying ship for BeamNG that weighted like millions of tons? It was working fine as far as I remember
It might just be with wheeled vehicles/vehicles with suspension. I remember train wheels getting messed up with too much weight.
How would i go about copying and pasting it to just use it as a solid prop? --- Post updated --- Can you put a link to @fufsgfen 's ship? I cant seem to find it. Thanks
it could work, just turn the map to 0 gravity and put thrusters on the thing... create a black map set some distant star maps, but it'd be pretty limited IMHO unless you make one of those huge 3GB maps?
you'd have to load the 3D Model into a 3D program like Blender and then export it as .dae, take the file and put it into one of the maps
