Steam is playing up Re: major update with new T series

I'm having some sort of issue with steam and the game. Basically the download part is fine, then steam validate showing 22.1GB out of 46.8GB for this example showing 49% complete and 5 minutes remaning. Ok sounds pretty normal so far but. Odd behaviour occurs when it's around 80% it automatically switches to updating running that cycle achiving nothing. It keeps going in this weird loop.

Things i've done so far. Changed download region, cleared cache, seeing if other games behaving like this during updates, they ran fine, no issues. The update itself is essentially 974.16MB, is this correct?

 

I have the exact same issue since the update. Wondering if i have to reinstall the game all over again??

 

It looks like i've identified the issue more clearly, it's Stuck in a Steam Validation/Update/Installation Loop. It often complained there is no internet connection eventho I'm online. The things i'm trying is clearing cache, deleting the download form the folder inside steam, changing download region. Very common lately

 

By clearing cache, do you mean BeamNG cache? Or Steam cache? I'm assuming you mean Steam cache, in which case clearing Steam's download cache should fix that issue. If not, then something must be wrong with your Steam installation. Also, try clearing the temp folder on your PC. You can do this by searching %temp% in the Windows Start Menu, and deleting everything in the folder.

 

So far I'm going to try to re-install the game but thats all, no other things done to it. Left the game to sort itself out for a few hours. The only thing i saw was that 5 files failed to validate but the loop issue still active.

 

Yeah it happened with another game earlier. I had to reinstall the game. It’s more likely an issue with steam than the game.

 

That's what I understand two. Steam has issues and some games are affected by this. Fortunatly as soon as it's safe to do so, i have no choice but to follow the clean install process and apply desired settings again from scratch. Although it can be a good thing to freshen up the game folder as it can get very messy in there after so many updates and modifications over teh years. lets hope tho this won't be a habbit

 

The only solution to this problem unfortunatly is to follow the clean install process outlined and before hand, be sure to change the download region and clear steam's cache. I've spent most of the day today "refreshing" it. This did the trick, download and install went through cleanly. A bit slow at 10mb per seconds at the most.
