The Dev should make it so you can download mods from the steam workshop. It would be nice and easy to download mods from the Steam Workshop.
Already been asked several time, you can use the Search function above to look for those threads. No, no Steam Workshop is going to be used. Instead a own repository is under work, which will have BeamNG aimed features and will be integrated into the game.
If BNG would have a workshop the modders would need official licenses from Audi , Mercedes , Porsche etc. And that will never happen so... nope
^ Not true, at all. How come Gmod workshop is filled with licenced vehicles then. You would need a licence only if you are selling something. A free mod doesn't require any licencing..
Not entirely true either, you are (in most western countries) not allowed to use trademarks by other companies right away. In theory you need a usage agreement for "free" mods as well. However, most companies simply don't care as long as you don't make any money with their trademarks. But still, if some car maker decides to not like such a usage anymore, they can easily request the deletion via their lawyers.
Gmod is a game with no damage model at all. If a company would see this with the combination of BNG it would be like with the old lotus that was deleted from the forum.
that wasn't deleted because of lotus lotus probably didn't even know it existed on this forum the person who made that lotus mod stole the model from another game (in this case assetto corsa) and the assetto corsa mods asked the devs of beamng to remove that as the person who made the mod had absolutley no rights to that model whatsoever, nor did he get permission
Its a good thing the paid mods died. So, no workshop, but an in game repository. Would that include the click and install option that the workshop has? Or would it be a browser, and we could see and download mods from there, but we'd still have to manually install them? Either way, more support for mods is awesome.
Yes, a genuine question indeed. It could be, but we wouldnt know until devs have a basic platform to do such an act(s). Anyways, if its better then workshop itself, i wont complain.
Well the true bright side, is the devs would have full control of moderating what goes on in the repository, meaning crap RUS mods can't be posted.
