I've just now tried the game with my Driving Force Pro, and I've discovered that the steering has a huge lag. It takes about .5-1 second for the game to turn the wheel to the position I've turned the wheel to. It should be in sync. This makes any kind of precision driving impossible, since I'd have to predict every move a second ahead. The only thing I can do right now with the wheel is cruising around at low speeds. As soon as I up the speed, the lag becomes a huge problem.

If you had looked around you would know that SHIFT + B disables the dynamic steering. Right now we are totally rewriting the steering/input code and it will be even more direct in the next patch.

Well it's easy for you to say, to look around. You know the ins and outs of the program, you've been practically sleeping with it for the last year or so. But we lesser folk only could get our hands on it a little more than a week ago. And in that week I spent no more than 2 hours with it. So excuse me if I don't know what dynamic steering is, and how it affects steering with a wheel. And that I need to turn it off manually if I want to use a wheel.

I searched for steering lag, it didn't come up in any context, so I opened a thread, go ahead shoot me.

By looking around he did mean on the forum. There's about 5 threads which mention "steering input" or "input lag" :)

It just gets kinda tiresome that 99% of the people just make a thread and don't even use the search function at all(or only try it once and don't think "maybe I can find something if I word it like this" ;) )

Or how about pressing F1 as the game suggests on the title screen to bring up the in-game manual? It's the 2nd entry on the "Advanced" tab.
Or check the FAQ before posting, as it specifically says in the Guidelines, which you have to agree to before posting the first time.

I agree with this one here... This game needs more user friendly designs to make it accessible to people who's not familiar with the system. Looking for a command through a bunch of searching with no result is okay for a freewear but not good for a commercialized game.
I wonder if the developer have conducted any user experience research/test yet?It would be good to see some improvement on this bit to have the game better than ROR...which was really a pain with control commands all over the place.

@gtpdzbiz: You do not seem to understand to full range the meaning of the alpha status might have for a project. User friendliness is definitely not one of the first things you add, especially since you don't know what's all going to change. It shouldn't be necessary for an alpha community either.

If you're buying an alpha product - and know the meaning of it - you do have enough interest to search, test, discuss and manage some things on your own.

@Mumia76: I am sorry for you lack of general respect and easy escalation probability.
