A C4 Corvette because it was cheap, but in October 2001 the head gasket blew, writing off the car. She then replaced the Corvette with a newish SUV which was a...

...MDX. It was a step down from the Merc, but there was less difficulty making payments, and it was a decent car by itself.
In 2007, Mrs. Hancock bought a classic coupe - a 1972 Chevrolet Corvette. It was a car taken out only on weekends, and mostly stored in the garage.
In 2010, the Acura started getting a bit old, so the owner decided to replace it. The next car was a...

...a Santa Fe. After the Fit, it was a quite nice return to midsize SUV practicality, and the family even started using it to tow a boat they bought on Craigslist in 2014.
A year later, the Corvette started getting boring. It got sold, and the replacement was a 1976 Mercedes 450SL with a 6.9 swap. It was a good weekend cruiser that was able to stretch its legs when needed.
The Hyundai is still in the family's possession, as well as the Merc, but they're now waiting for used Tesla Model Xs to get cheap enough.

    New story of a car:
So, here is the first story, a story of a car:
In 1974, Mr. Wilson Deleves from Los Angeles became an executive in his company. A year after his promotion, as the 1976 model year started, he bought a car he always wanted to have - a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, with all the optional extras.
While the gas mileage was subpar, the Cadillac served its owner well, having a comfortable suspension, a lot of equipment and a convertible top. Mr. Deleves drove it until 1980, when it was traded in for a new Eldorado. The Cadillac dealer sold the '76 to...

...of a slightly underperforming underwear company, Mr. Adrian Roston. He wanted a low-priced luxury car. For years, he was quite satisfied with the car, but it kept getting older and he couldn't afford to replace it.
Finally, in 1988, the company went bankrupt, and the Cadillac, kept in not-so-excellent-anymore condition, was reposessed and auctioned to help pay the owner's bankruptcy proceeding money and child support. The highest bidder was...

...in the bloodline of Nikola Tesla, Benjamin Tesla. He wanted something that he can test the Tesla Coil and something luxurious. When he got the car, he got a great welcome, as the car was cleaned by a friend of his. When he completed it, he decided to sell it to someone who cares for Cadillac in 1990. That car would go next to Priest...

...one of the supply companies of the store, Mr. David Maravel. Mr. Maravel offered to buy the car when he heard it was for sale, and planned to replace the engine as soon as he had the money. However, he never really did, and the car ended up spending 8 years under a tarp in his garden.

In 2008, Mr. Maravel found a reasonably-priced used boat, rough, but running, for sale. He offered the non-running car as a trade, and the boat owner agreed. The convertible was now the property of...

...a convenience store in a black community in New Jersey, Mr. Alfred Jefferson. He was able to maintain the car on his business' meager profits, but in 1965, the car started rusting (courtesy of old build quality, or the lack thereof, and NJ road salt). It was being repainted at first, but in 1966, Mr. Jefferson decided to sell his sedan by placing an advert on his store's window. A new owner was finally found after a few weeks - it was...

    Here's the best story ever:
One time somebody owned a car.
    The car crashed.
    The end.

...Alfred Mirren, a budding demolition derby driver. He bought the now-pretty-much-worthless Chevy and used it in derbies. The car won its first, failed in its second, but got rebuilt, and then got so damaged it wasn't repaired after it, but went to the junkyard.

New story, one for a car:
In 1994, Ralph Dunniel, a boat tuner from San Francisco, bought himself a brand-new sports car - a Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo. He used it for occasional cruises and highway pulls, and was satisfied with it. In 1996, the car was bumped into by a 1984 Monte Carlo, but got repaired.
In 1997,,Mr. Dunniel decided to replace his car with a Viper, and traded it in to his local Dodge dealer. The dealer sold it to...
