Okay, so I expected DRIVE to run decently on my computer, but I must say I'm surprised by how poorly it does run for me. Literally none of the graphics options change my FPS. Disabling the Post FX gave me a ~5-10 FPS boost. But I have 0 difference in FPS if I'm on lowest for everything or if I have everything cranked up on high. And that honestly baffles me at this point. Literally everything runs the exact same on lowest as it does on high, ~25 FPS. Is something on my machine bottlenecking my FPS or what? Below is a snippet of my dxdiag. I'd love to play this at a bit of a smoother frame rate, rather being capped where I'm at:

Check http://wiki.beamng.com/BeamNG_FAQ also make sure your using the GTX 560m and not your intel graphics. (Right click BeamNG click run with graphics processor and select high performance Nvidia.

800x600 showed improvement initially at the menu, but then it's right back to around 25 FPS.

As for Nvidia Optimus, my system doesn't use it, so no Intel graphics and Drive reads it the proper card.

Running fullscreen for some seems to cause an issue as well. Also the processor could be part of the problem.

Going windowed seems to help quite a bit... until I change cars, then it's right back down. I mean I went from 70 FPS on Normal to 20 FPS, just from changing cars.

Press CTRL+SHIFT+Escape and check your CPU/Physical memory, if either are at 100% then you are overworking your CPU or you are out of memory.

Nope, not that either. Here are some screens showing the issue at hand:

I have the same issue. I have everything maxed except post fx and get ~40 fps until I change cars, then it limits to 25 even with 5 cars. I7 870, 8gb 1033 ram, HD 7770.

Kind of makes me wonder if it's an issue with the card and stuch, something that could be patched out and fixed. Out of curiosity, what version are your drivers? I updated to the most recent beta and saw no improvement.

Latest Release drivers,I doubt it's a problem with the card,as others with different cards are experiencing the same. I really hope BeamNG sees this and at least attempts to fix it,I would be disheartened if I could only play the game like this. I am constantly busy so I only have a laptop.

Valid point, and I am in a very similar situation. College demands mobility and all. Hopefull the Dev team will be able to work on optimization down the road when they get to that phase.

On second testing,my card stays at Idle temperature while playing, but shows the card being used. Seems one in every 15 threads in support is about this issue,so I don't think we will have to wait that long.

See, mines running under load temperature (80C) when I'm pulling 70+ FPS and when it dips after changing to a different vehicle.

Okay,I found the source of the problem,it's the processor and usage settings for me,with my usage settings set at 0% minimum load and 100% maximum load and when I load into the game,my fps rockets to 60+ but as less processing is needed,ie,loading the game, the fps drops again but to 10 this time. When I change the settings to a minimum load of 90% and the same for maximum,I get 25 fps, when I change the max to 100%,10 fps...
So we found the problem, now we have to figure what combination to get things working...
    Any ideas?

I have this issue too. Although my computer is much older than yours (CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2,5Ghz; Nvidia GTX260; 8GB Ram) it is stuck at 24 fps with the cpu utilization at 70% per core and gpu utilization at 60%. Changing the resolution makes no difference at all, changing settings makes no difference either.

I believe the problem is the CPU getting hot and not being cooled properly, then the CPU being turned down thus loss in fps.
