Here are some things (good and bad) I've noticed that are different between the time when the tech demo came out and now. -Better FPS In the tech demo I get 45 fps with the Covet on GridMap w/ default settings, but I can get 60 fps on ECUSA with 2 vehicles in 0.8. -Sounds The metal collision sound is the only one present in the tech demo, and it doesn't always happen in the crash. Now we have suspension, glass, fire, and engine damage sounds. -Lights In the TechDemo the taillights and headlights definitely seem brighter and more defined than now. Take a look: (The brakelights are on in both) This is unrealistic, AND if I am following an AI car it is hard to see when they are braking.
Well obviously there are going to be differences with the techdemo and version 0.8 because the techdemo was made in 2013 and version 0.8 is made in 2017. But these differences are indeed important, as that makes the game different from its very early development.
From your screenshot it looks like you are running the game at a lower graphical setting than in the techdemo.
I remember trying out the v2 techdemo a few months ago; the covet felt like it weighed as much as a small moon!
I remember back in the Techdemo, I managed to deform the Covet in a way so it looked like a sports car with the rear hatch as a spoiler. I think I still have a screenshot of it, but it's on my other computer. I'll see if I can find it later.
The lights are definitely worse right now than they were a year a half ago. That is regardless of graphics settings. The outside pictures are made with the lights off and the brake lights on. In real life, I would surely rear end this D15. Needs to be much brighter. The pictures from the inside are created with the headlights on, but high beams off. Minimum graphics settings on one, maximum on the other. With minimum settings, you literally can't tell if the lights are on or not.
