terrain texture fx

    Heres a shot in the dark, any way to make my custom terrain textures act a certain way or give off a certain fx from the tyres? why does it go default asphalt but give no option to change? :(

    When i try to make a map If i go on to grid map i get rocky dirt or dirt or sand or just rocky or grass but my mud its broken it wont show And when i make a new terrain texture and it pops the file folder up i dont know where to go and how to make a new texture like asphalt or road :( help is there any way

    check your materials.cs file see if the code is correct. Also see if some of the files are there. Some might not be there thats why it goes white in editor. When it gives you the option to pick the texture, you have to go to the map folder your working on, and in the terrains folder pick dds from there. When you make a new terrain texture you will not have any effects like mud or dust particles show it will by default set to asphalt. To make a new texture like asphalt or road, you make a custom dds file and you put it in road folder not terrains folder. There you also have to make a custom code for your new texture in the materials.cs file. just copy some code from another road, change the output name to whatever you called your road/graphic. Then load it up ingame and you should see you can use your decal under roads and paths.

    Make sure you save in dtx1 - no mipmap - if theres an alpha channel dtx5 - no mipmap(i think) = and save it as dds file.

    When i delet grid map like everything except the ground i can change it but i only have a few but i want to now where do i go when you push the terrain editor in the editor mode i cant find it in my beamng drive folder i went to texture and only found no textures or sky

    Ok so what i do is i push F11 to go in map editor and then i go to the terrain painter i get the grass rock rocky dirt and dirt mud is fixed :) and ice but then i click new layer then i do not now what to do it sends me to custom the diffuse and all of that i click the buttons that is diffuse and it is a white box so i click it and it takes me to files and i click on beamng drive folder

    materials.cs is in your file folder of the map you are working on its in each folder under arts. If you delete gridmap the ground will go to the next material and set it as default. If you make a new material you just have to make sure you are using the same dds from the same folder of the map you are working on.
    If you cant find the folders or files its prolly because you havent unzipped the maps.

    Wait so if i delete every thing in grid it will change the ground idk but its hard to explain but i need help i need textures your helping me but could you show pictures it might seem more understanding that way :) a def and picture
