Lets see: 0-60 in 1.9 seconds 0-100 in 4.9 600 mile range Model 3 Roadster is great! Feel bad for the paint on the one during the unveil though D: Now for the Semi: 65mph at the max gross weight with a 5% incline 500 mile range 30 minute charge for 400 miles 80,000 lbs capacity, 0-60 in 20 seconds with max gross weight 0-60 in 5 seconds without weight I'd say that Musk wrote history today. Also, for those haters out there, you can wait and watch how things go down. Surely not the way you hope. Signed, Hawk
Guys like Musk remind me of the type of people that innovated during the early 1900's. I'll admit I was a hater early on but it is clear this guys attitude is refreshing and hopeful in what has become a pretty bleak landscape. He surely has a target on his back, coming from decades of entrenched status quo power, corruption and greed. The roadster looks awesome and I have serious doubts the majority of plebs who purchase one will do anything good with 0-60 in 1.9s. Strictly my opinion.
both the semi and the roadster are, pardon my language, fucking insane. disappointing that the roadster won't come for another 3-4 years or so, based on elon's tendency to delay things.
"The quickest car in the world". Musk being Musk again. A perfect example of how omitting one word (in this case, "production") changes make something much more desirable to people who don't think much. Anyway, if I wanted to drive something that pretends to be eco-friendly, I'd drive a fucking Prius.
As for the Roadster, if it follows on the promises, I think it'd be a really awesome, like 10/10 awesome. The Truck has a good future if Tesla uses the "zero moving parts" advantage of the EV to improve longevity. --- Post updated --- Generally, "quickest car" is colloquially used to denote the quickest production car. That's how every non-hardcore-car-guy I know uses it.
No one is going to buy the semi see the other shit Tesla makes can work because they're toys and rich dicks would buy than because it has a Eco ego bonus, but the semi is a working vehicle and I'm going to guess the base price is higher than $500,000 USD to let you know $100,000 is the high price brand new semis.
I'm not sure "eco-friendly" is the priority of someone who spends that $200k on a vehicle with 300lb-ft of torque and 0-60 in sub 2 seconds
Since when has Musk cared about being profitable with his companies? Tesla has been hemorrhaging money for most of its lifespan and Space-X isn't exactly made to bring in the big money. Musk has his goals, he already has his money. (Not trying to praise Musk, but his vision before profit thing is nice to see. I think his Neuralink thing is disgusting and impermissible in many ways)
With how much money he is worth and how many investors are at least interested in his stuff, I don't think bankruptcy is near his horizon.
