I have made some custom objects and copied and pasted the .dae file and the folder containg textures in my levels/JTA/art/shapes/buildingssk folder but they come out with no texture.
Hello --- Post updated --- so i am trying to get this to work and this is why mod support section sucks. nobody ever reads it. I cant figure out how to get the textures to work. do i have to make a .cs file and if so how do i do it??? --- Post updated --- in game in sketchup in folder --- Post updated --- can somebody help
First thing You should really avoid to put mods inside the steam folder because it can be erased by steam when it will upgrade or check the files So put your own mods in Documents/BeamNG.Drive/mods/unpacked/modname.zip/ (this is a folder name don't create a real zip) for material you just click on your mesh, click on the material editor on the toolbar and load the texture file for the material. don't forget to click save!!!!!!! Then the materials.cs will be saved somewhere (for me when I do mods on the unpacked folder they get saved in Documents/BeamNG.Drive/levels........) If you do as i say you may need to open the file with a text editor because BeamNG don't get the path right For instance it will write C:\Program Files(x86)\.... all the stuff to your file , just delete every thing before levels Tips: if the name of the material in the mesh correspond to a texture files (it may work only for dds) Beamng will load this file when you select the material This way material assignment is quicker BeamNG may need to reload the map or even load another map for changes to take effect
I don't know in sketchup you put a texture on it so it must have a name or something https://www.beamng.com/threads/vide...th-working-collision-textures-for-noobs.5071/
now i have made a house and made it so all the textures are on and i saved it but then i reload the map and
You may have the problem I always got when I modify files on the beamng editor You should have a materials.cs in the same folder as your mesh But Beamng will likely not save it there so you have to find the updated version search in Document/BeamNG/level/.......... Compare the last edit dates
