The lack of custom vehicle/maps is ridiculous.

This game is so damn awesome, has been out for quite some time, and there is a very small amount of mods for it. When on the Vehicles forum, nearly ALL the projects are WIP, then cancelled or never updated, On hold forever, or are simply an empty frame, or half a vehicle. I understand 3d Modeling is hard, and you cant just make a car in a week, but so many projects have been going for so long, it seems like the authors arnt even trying. In a few posts people have asked how to jbeam, and the only replies or 'help" are people saying they will do it for them, not explaining how it works. This game also has made very little progress from its alpha release. Many other alpha games push out big updated every 2-3 weeks, but beamNG takes months, and when an update DOES come out, hardly anything has changed, and they things that have changed are so simple and basic, that its hard to believe i had to wait so long for the update. This game has a LOT of potential, and is already a fucking great game, but people need to put more effort into things.

Another thing, i have noticed on the forums when people "port" a vehicle into beamNG, everyone is fine with it, but when a russian does it, its a horrible sin and everyone cracks it over them. The russian mods that dont have their own jbeam ARE trash. But more russian mods then others have their own jbeam, yet people dont like it?

People need to put more effort into things? Why don't you try making your own very detailed model, texturing it, and creating a proper JBeam for it? It's not as easy as you seem to think it is. Now, if you simply said that you wished that there were more mods, this post would be less offensive. But no, you seem to be attacking mod creators (who, by the way, don't have to do anything if they don't want to) for doing the best work they can. As a mod creator myself, your comment about us "not even trying" really makes me mad.
Umm, no. I do not know of any russian mods that have their own JBeam that is not based off of a stock vehicle.

Edit: Just noticed you complaining about the slowness of development. First of all, there are basically four people making this game. Second of all, I don't know a single game that has a major update every 2-3 weeks. And three, well, I think this picture explains it: bugs.jpg

Patience is key my friend, without it you won't get very far...

For a start, there are already a number of mods which are already released that you can download here (Series 62 Caddy, GC8 Impreza, An Evo, Drowsy's plethora of goodness, Group 5 Capri, VW Polo rally ect...)

Furthermore, there are a number of mods still being worked on (it takes time after all). These include: Mythbuster's spectacular JZX81 Toyota Chaser, PRT Audiman's E39, an E46 touring car by luchvk, and of course a moderate collection of oldschool Japanese cars from your friendly baka!

Basically, just be patient. the mods will come, and when they do, people will have even more knowledge on making them faster and better. Keeping in mind for a number of people the concept of jbeam is very new and daunting. I've currently only made 2 jbeams in my life, both of which have ruddy weak front suspension. Once I figure out how to make it strong, jbeaming will become a lot quicker. It just requires patience and determination (combined with a lot of tea and anime:p)

Oh, those other mods from certain sites that will not be named are frankly complete and utter bollocks. Their models look garbage due to improper use of shading, and don't get me started on the jbeam...

This post. Just wow. Appart from the other replies you should not forget that BeamNG Drive is still in Alpha Stage.

Alot of people aren't even going to bother to create mods because they don't want to fix 100s of mods after the game hits beta or Final. Because code changes. Sometimes alot. And mods break thus of this.

And dafuq: there are so much mods that the car selector has a scrollbar in my game. If you want you can have like 50 cars no problem. Or around 30 maps. Is that really "not that much"? For being an alpha this is damn much!

Seriously. I don't know of any alpha that has over 50 vehicles and 30 levels.. Most alpha games have 1 or 2 levels and maybe 5 or so vehicles.

Like others have said this is a very small dev team and this game is very ambitious and it is going to take time.

Really you expect lots of mods When the game has been out for around 1 year And still in alpha Look at RoR that has tons of Mods and RoR has been out much longer than beamng Which means Patience Just wait for the future of this game
Plus there is more than just making the model There is alot of coding in it Like .jbeam .dds .lua Its very hard to do that please respect that
And there isn't many devs at the moment be patient

Yes I think that patience is the problem.

I don't have any problems with the game but it would be good if they put in fire.
