I am looking for a small team for a vehicle project. I already have one person working with me but I can tell this will take some work. (update 10/28/22: i have a few team members working with me but will not turn down further help).

The short version is I want the famous Ivan Ironman Stewart Toyota trophy truck put in BeamNG.

I have done some extensive research into the truck specifications, tracking down the two major versions of the truck via youtube videos and website data. I have access to some assets, tons of reference photos and videos, specs, all that. I just lack the skills to make it all happen.

We can use model rips from any recent game featuring the truck in some form, some parts like wheels or suspension may need to be custom modeled or the whole thing can be custom modeled. I’m not picky either way. Let me know if you want to get involved in this. I will pay for the work done but once completed it would be a public release.

The main idea is that there were two major chassis numbers attached to Ivan Stewart, PPI 010 and PPI 015. The most well known truck that won a majority of races was the older 010 V6 chassis with its torsion bar and a-arm suspension with 2 and 3 shocks per wheel. This truck wiped the floor against all classes and bigger V8 trucks and won nearly every race. In 1994 the newer 015 chassis was introduced with simplified double a-arms and a custom single coilover shock per wheel. The overall design and chassis itself pretty much stayed the same. Without too much effort, both truck versions could easily be recreated by changing a few parts here and there. (update 10/28/22: the Forza Horizon 4 T100 Baja model will be chassis 010 as it is the only accurate example found in a recent game, 015's chassis will be custom modeled)(update 3/20/23: FH4s model was not working out so well so it is bring custom modeled with the Forza version serving as a reference for some of the chassis structure and powertrain placement.)

Optionally you could contribute to this project by offering to model or texture something specific needed for the vehicle, i.e. wheels, tires, various parts or livery designs, depending on what is needed. You will be paid for the contribution and credited for the work.

Please contact me or reply if you are genuinely interested in helping to see this a reality.

I would advise you to wait with it a bit until they add the new trophy truck to the game, that might bring some new stuff you would need that might not be possible yet

Oh, yeah I was just recruiting for preliminaries, I had no clue an actual trophy truck was in the works. Shows how little I pay attention to the behind the scenes stuff. I doubt the wheels or tires I need will be a thing so that would require custom modeling, of which this community has an abundance of talent for.

Just to prove that this is not some flash in the pan idea or a pipe dream, here’s some early model progress of the T100, messing around with component groups, and some comparisons between it and the LKS Prerunner. Images from my modeler using the Gravel model (until we get a better one or a full custom version [we are getting a better model :D ]).
    --- Post updated ---
    Current roadmap:

    PPI 010 chassis
-Modeling chassis (in progress, nearly complete)
-Modeling wheels/tires (in progress, nearly complete, about 80%, need Ultra and Progressive Pro wheels, finishing touches on some tires)
-Modeling major components: engine, transaxle, suspension, trans cooler, interior, steering, body panels (in progress)
-Sort and inspect completed model, getting basic structure into Beam
    -Texturing/livery variants
    -J-beaming, physics
    -Inputting data for vehicle
    -Testing/troubleshooting
    -Custom sound

    To do for the future:
    -Model 015 chassis
    -Model major components
    -Sort and inspect model
    -Create livery/texture variants
Custom sounds for V6 and V8 engines

Quick question, why does your model look like that? The funky shading on all the faces makes it look like a Forza model with the decimate modifier applied. You should fix that before progressing because it will look very bad in-game, maybe try some normal editing or checking the face orientation.

yeah, probably gonna scrap that model and try and get the Forza one for the 010 chassis. its kind of a mess :/

eventually if it gets to a working state. its a mess atm :/

Where'd you get it from? I could try to fix it up. Using the Forza model would probably end up looking nicer but they are terrible for fps and crash physics so it'd probably be worth it to stick with the lower poly one

As stated above, it was from Gravel. It's pretty incomplete and a jumble of parts from chassis 010 and 015. get in touch with me in Discord at HylianWolf#0867 or here in DMs

The eventual end game for this project. First image is about 1993 after which 010 was retired. Next images is 015 as a V6, then 1997 with a brand new V8 and the last time the truck wore that livery. Finally 1998 with the radical new paintjob and rebuilt V8. 015 will represent three separate eras and two plain versions of the livery patterns that will be customizable in the color selectors. 010 will feature at least two racing liveries, one show livery, and one customizable plain livery with adjustable colors on select colors of the body panels.

Probably scrapping that Gravel model I showed off previously, was a “longer you look the worse it gets” example and I had an issue with practically everything under the body panels. So we’re going with the FH4 model instead for “chassis 010”. Also BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM1s in the works

And oddity I found last night when inspecting the model. In-game (FH4/5), the tires on the T100 are too wide and clip into the wheel wells under suspension compression. So I started thinking that the game devs got the tire size by default wrong. After playing with an empty spare tire model, I was proven right. They claim the in-game model has 315mm or 12.5in wide tires. If that was the case then there would be no issues. Clearly they are wider than that, the real truck had 35in tall by 12.5in wide tires on 15in x 8in wheels. This is true for the spare wheel on the back.

Yeah, I’ve been playing FH4 and 5 for a year and a half and I am rarely found outside of that truck. Its been a pretty obviously issue for me since I am a fanatic for this truck (hence the mod project). Another thing that bothers me is the AWD swap. The engine is mid-chassis mounted and has a short driveline going to the transmission in the rear, under the fuel cell. How in the heck do you send a driveshaft linkage to the front IFS from the rear trans-axles? It makes no sense from a mechanical viewpoint. Its like those rwd buggies or a reverse front wheel drive. Literally impossible.

I also just remembered another detail with the engine. It’s only 1/3rd modeled (basically only what the player can see from the outside). The Toyota 5VZ-FE engine may have to be a custom model unless someone has a model for that engine somewhere. Don’t want to run into lazy dev issues when trying to get this truck into Beam.

Yea I have a friend who's a modder and he doesn't do engines sadly. I really don't know any 5VZ engine models to use but you could ask some professionals or look for free models (which is a bad idea but last minute thing)

Yeah, I was thinking of having a placeholder or something until we can get an actual engine in there. At least the drive shaft looks like it works.
