Looking good Crash Hard! I have been commeting on your vids on YT.
what about obstacles
I just found out this map exists. Thank you for this, Crash Hard!
Hey everyone, I need some help.
I have started a new project, a long downhill road, on the Long Desert Road map.
It is as long as the desert road, it has 11 lanes.
What I need is some suggestion on what to fill in the road with, road lane layouts or stuff to hit or not hit
If I get some suggestions I like, I will add them into the map.
I will release a video to show what I have buildt so far, in about 3 hours, just so you get a better understanding on what the road looks like.
Where the video will be posted: https://www.youtube.com/crashhard
Medium size jumps
Yes, I have been thinking about that to, I will add that in i think.
i was thinking your long desert road needed to end in sand dunes or something like that would be cool to end it.
The end is done you will see that in the video I will post in a bit over 2 hours
I liked how the long desert road slowly damaged the car with little bumps. I think the downhill version should have the same basic layout.
I'm very excited to see new progress on this map!
If I'm not too late for suggestions, how about putting some half-buried trash like abandoned traffic cones or rusty barrels in this pit after the jump:
Another thing that would be very nice to have would be some decaying signs at the roadside - 'FALLING ROCK' and 'BLASTING ZONE AHEAD' might be useful for establishing camera shots in case you want to make videos with your new explosive prop or by sending rocks tumbling down the cliffside. Highway signs on the other side might be nice to show players the distance to the end of the road.
I kind of get the feeling from the look of this road that it was a highway rebuilding project that got abandoned before it could be finished. Some roadside debris (maybe even some in the middle of the road) to that effect would give it a unique look and serve the same destructive purpose as the boulders along the map's main road - rusty hulks of bulldozers, concrete barriers stacked up waiting to be placed, miscellanous piles of scrapped construction signage and materials, etc. That would be a lot of work though - I guess that would depend on whether or not you like to use smaller modeling jobs to take breaks from bigger projects.
The Long Desert Road map wip update is finally here. Download Zip file in the first post.
Fu@%ing ingenious!! You never disappoint. Thank you & keep up the good work. Also, loved the soccer ball, needed it, thank you.
