But over revving is still a thing?

Is there an option to turn off damage from over revving?

    Or is there a mod?

Yes I've searched, No I didn't find anything.

Personally it ruins the game for me. I don't care for the whole "realism".

I know nothing of making mods, but if someone knows what to change in the files, I'd be happy to do it. Thanks in advance

    Wrong game mate? :)

It's at the moment not possible to turn off those kind of damage.
Although I recall that the mod you mentioned does make the engines completely damage-proof (??)

Select adjustable rev limiter from the parts list and set it so that you don't get too much revs.

There is indeed mod, indestructible engines or something along those lines, quick search reveals this, try that if it does what you wanted to achieve:

There was also mod that added adjustable rev limiter to every engine, but that was in old version, I don't know if it is updated for current game version or can't remember if game already has adjustable rev limiter for every engine, but I guess you manage with above mod just fine :)

Thank you for being an adult and not trying to make some arrogant joke about my situation.

You understood exactly what my problem was and I thank you for that.

I have the indestructible engine mod, which is what I'm using, which is far from realistic and the same thing with the indestructible radiator. The rev limiter is what I needed. I don't know that much about this car stuff when it comes down to what's actually causing the problem, so again, thanks for the help.

hahahaha Yes me and my close to 1500 hours in this game and I'm playing the wrong game.

What I was getting at was when I'm driving with the indestructible engine, my engine will still break when over revving occurs. To me, an indestructible engine, will be just that, indestructible. But fufsgfen explained it to me and I now got it. Thanks for the input and attempt at a joke, but you guys have some unrealistic stuff yourself, soo

Being snarky at a dev making a friendly comment about someone playing a sim game who doesn’t care about realism, totally the best way to go about things there buddy.

Out of curiosity, what do you find unrealistic? Some things happen at unrealistic rates for game balance, and some things are planned (as the game is still in alpha) or just a limitation of computers, but overall things seem to be fine in that department.

Glad you got a smile out of it :)

What is unrealistic exactly? Can you go in details? That would help us to improve.
Over-revving is pushing the engine over its 'normal' RPM-range, meaning you are forcing it into higher revolution than it's supposed to sustain. That will inevitable cause damage, as well unpleasant sounds you wish you'd never hear in your own car.

On the other side, you are using a mod that is called 'Indestructible Engine'. That, per its nature, is unrealistic..:confused:
