Hello guys, so I lately started playing beamng and was looking for some mods, I found some on a third party site which looked decent enough, but after downloading about 20 to 30 mods from there, started looking for as if the site or sites like that are safe, which I learned that most of them are not and the only recommended one was Beamng’s official site.

My question is this, after learning these I used Malwarebytes to scan my pc and everything was fine, but I feel a little paranoid about it, so what should be the best thing to do so that my pc is safe ?

And you guys might ask why I used third party in the first place, it’s because I wanted some IRL Branded vehicles which was not available here, so yeah it’s was kinda selfish I guess.
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

It's highly unlikely that you actually got some virus. It's just that the forum is the only official place for mods, and some users here are too schizo about it.

If you use an adblock, an up to date antivirus, and some common sense, the worst that may happen is that you get a mod of dubious quality.

BeamNG forum community is the only that cares of it – mostly because some take the forum rules as some sort of moral compass. Check any other game mod community (Assetto Corsa, GTA, etc.), people convert branded cars from one game to another and nobody bats an eye.

Yeah that’s probably it, I mean it felt like only for Beamng where most of the people go mad about someone downloading a mod from a different site other than here.

I normally use Windows Defender which mostly does the trick, for extra I might do some scans and yeah probably it should be fine.

    Thanks for a genuine answer
