Hello I've been postponing a cpu upgrade for quite a while now. Switching to team red for upgradability. Current specs: CPU: intel i7 7700K MoBo: Asus Prime Z270-A RAM: 32GB DDR4 @ 2133MHz(?) GPU: MSI ventus 3x 3080 System storage: 250GB Samsung 960 evo Case: An old bitfenix case with abysmal airflow Planned changes: CPU: Ryzen 7 7700 MoBo: GIGABYTE B650 EAGLE RAM: 32GB G.Skill Flare x5 6000MHz CL30 GPU: MSI ventus 3x 3080 (hopefully a thorough cleaning with new pads and paste will get the temps under control) System storage: 2TB Samsung 980 pro Case: Lian Li Lancool 207 The aim is to get most bang for the buck on a strict budget. I'd love your feedback on what you think of the planned changes and if there is anything you would change.
I'm only keeping the GPU, storage drives and maybe some other things from the old one so I guess I'm building a new pc. I guess I've been thinking of it as an upgrade as I plan to clone my system drive to avoid reinstalling everything.
If that's the case, get the latest GPU. It will be very helpful for performance. (just build an new computer)
